Ecuador Travel Books

Many books have been written about traveling ot Ecuador. Although currently there are no mainstream books about Riobamba, this wonderful city and its surroundings are included in all serious Ecuador guides. One of the best is the Lonely Planet's Country guide to Ecuador and Galapagod Islands. I specifically like the Lonely Planet's guides because they list the sustainable options for green tourists.

Riobamba is a great place for a green tourist. It offers hiking, climbing, kayaking and other green activities. This book will guide you through the countries best places and explain the rich cultural heritage behind the indigenous people of Ecuador. If you're traveling to this hidden gem of South America, a trustworthy book is a must - it will save you loads of time. However, don't just go by the book - be inventive, mix with the local people (who are very friendly, by the way) and consult the local Tourist information centres. In Riobamba there are a few but the best one is located at the Rail station. They are helpful and kind and speak both English and Spanish.
